Objective

The objective of this position contains several duties though out the packing facility, Stacking, lifting, dumping fruit, picking up fruit from the floor, cleaning, crawling in tight places, working in wet areas for a long period of time, packing, sorting and any other duties that are assigned  under the direction of the Line labor supervisor.

Objective

The primary function of this position is to inspect cherries for defects according to specifications provided, i.e. color, shape, bruises, softness, grade, sunburn and punctures. As the fruit moves across the sorting table, the worker will sort out defective cherries and reach approximately 14″ to place the cherries into one of three cull chutes located in the center of the sorting or side of the table. Additionally, the worker removes any leaves or debris from the fruit and being able to work with packaging equipment, focus on distribution of final product while maintaining consistent work flow.

  • Constant lifting 0 – 1 pound to lift/place fruit into the cull chutes
  • Infrequent twisting and bending at waist when leaning/reaching – varies according to variety and quality of cherries being processed
  • Seldom to occasional walking and climbing stairs to and from assigned workstation. The exact number of stairs that are required to be climbed varies according to the assigned workstation

·         Answer phone calls and assists on directions, scheduling appointments, inventories and order status properly and accurately

·          Works with sales on special loading instructions and resolving any problems that arise

·         Checks-in all truck, assigns door, and hands out the order to be loaded accordingly, effectively, and accurately

·         High School diploma, GED, or 2yrs related work experience

·         Flexible to work 7-days and overtime on any shift if necessary

Elements Of Position
·         Confirms counts and documentation on any receiving fruit, packaging material, and miscellaneous items

·         Weighs all incoming fruit bins maintaining proper and accurate counts and weights of each growers/block  fruit

·         Input data into Famous system in a timely and accurate manner

·         Signs out with proper BOL all drivers on any outgoing loads of fruit, material, and miscellaneous items

·         Double checks accuracy of all paperwork and resolves all related problems as they arise

·         Performs physical inventories and monitors inventories in Famous to adjust and report if necessary

·         Set and attain goals, maintaining attention to detail, and working within deadlines

·         Maintains communication with growers for updated estimates and communicates information with shed departments

·         Assists on maintaining area clean and organized
