New Excelsior Farming LLC, is seeking day time farm tractor driver. The main responsibilities are operating a tractor for land preparation, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, day time pesticide applications, sprinkler irrigation, furrow irrigation, and drip irrigation. You must wash tractors and equipment, and fill out inspection forms. Also, depending on weather conditions and work load, they may be required to assist in harvest activities, thinning, weeding, service of equipment, or clean-up.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Need Experienced Drivers with Backhoe, Water Truck, Big Horse Power Heavy Tractors.
  • Operate tractor to perform various land prep duties, disc, chisel, plowing, bed shaping, spraying using laser leveling equipment to level large fields.
  • May lubricate and repair tractor and attachments.
  • Learn location of all ranches.
  • Learn to identify the differences between the different vegetables.
  • Learn Ranch Field Valve and row counting systems.
  • Communicates and sets schedules with tractor Supervisor to get ground worked in a timely manner.
  • Makes sure Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed at all times.

Job Description

The Ranch Irrigator will be responsible for managing the application of water, coordinating with other members of the company for the use of fertilizers, tractor operations, cultivating, and spraying. Also, working with the irrigation supervisor as well as with other irrigators during climate changes to help prevent plant mortality by adjusting irrigation schedule, as well as timing the application and selecting the method of application to get the most desirable amount of moisture available to the plant. Coordinating with the harvest department to regulate the amount of water applied to crops scheduled for harvest or in harvest.

  • Responsible for crop irrigation, plant growth and ranch production (daily, weekly and monthly).

  • Report any mechanical problem with the water truck or well pumps during working hours.
